Win a Shot at Boris Becker Heads-Up on partypoker for $25,000!
If you were a tennis fan in the 80s you know Germany's Boris Becker as the youngest ever winner of Wimbledon and one of the game's most iconic figures.
If you're a poker fan, you might also know him from his various appearances at charity events and invitational tournaments over the past few years.
If you've seen those and hoped you might get a chance to square off with him across the table, now you'll have the opportunity.
Beat the Ace for a Shot at $25,000
First things first: the German ace who has 49 career titles in tennis and more than 20 years in poker was also officially announced as a new partypoker Ambassador. He joins an expanding partypoker pro team that includes Sam Trickett, Jackie Glazier and Mike Sexton.
To celebrate Becker's signing partypoker is offering up a tennis-themed challenge that could end up in you battling Becker live heads-up for $25k. Here's how:
Opt in to one of the 4 Beat the Ace Missions and complete the three objectives in any order. The objectives are simple and range from making a deposit to doubling up in a single Fast Forward hand.
Each time you complete a Mission you’ll be entered into a $5,000 freeroll. There will be 4 in all that will play out on Jan 7, 8, 14 and 15. Qualify for each by completing a freeroll-specific Mission any time between Dec. 5 and Jan. 6.
Leaderboard Winner Flown Out to Battle
Along with the possible share of $20,000 in cash from the freerolls a special leaderboard will run alongside. The player who earns the most points across the four freerolls will be flown out to play Becker live heads-up in a Best-of-3 for $25,000 cash!
Win one match and win $5,000. Take two matches and you'll pocket $10,000. Win 3 straight sets and you'll get the full $25,000. Luxury accommodation and $1,000 towards travel is also included.
If you're expecting a cakewalk in the poker department, though, think again:
“I am equally competitive at the poker table as I was on the tennis court," Becker says, "so I’m really excited to be partnering with partypoker and taking on players around the world.
"I learnt to play poker a long time ago; it’s a game of skill and perseverance, so I’m hoping to use my experience on the tennis court to my advantage. partypoker has some world class tournaments coming up and I look forward to playing online as well as live at the partypoker MILLIONS in April."
